2012 award winners


The South Carolina HIV/AIDS Clinical Training Center offers one-on-one experience in HIV/AIDS care to the licensed professional who is new to HIV/AIDS care, or desires a skills update or refresher.
Individualized first-hand clinical experience is provided for:                                                                               

  • Physicians                                                                             
  • Nurse Practitioners/Nurses (RNs/LPNs)
  • Physician Assistants
  • Dentists
  • Dental Hygienists
  • Pharmacists                       

Learning objectives include current therapies in HIV treatment, initiation and management of antiretroviral regimens, key drug interactions and side effects, and adherence counseling interventions. 
There is no fee for this training.  Limited assistance with travel expenses may be available for eligible clinicians. Continuing Medical and Nursing Education can be awarded with prior approval.

Preceptorships will take place at the Immunology Center Clinic at University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia.
